bombshell makeup tutorial (my go-to look)

My go-to makeup look is a thick cat-eye (a bit Amy Winehouse inspired) with Marilyn inspired shadow and contouring of the crease of my eye. This with thick lashes give the doll-like effect that I'm constantly after. Paired with a rosy lip, you're set. Below are steps on how I do my makeup!

makeup tutorial
1. Apply primer to your eye (I use MAC Paint Pot). Apply a skin-toned shadow all across lid.
2. Apply light brown in crease (contour), concentrating on outer v of eye.
3. Lightly blend this color.
4. Run a white eyeliner across lower waterline. Line outter-bottom lid with brown eyeliner.
5. Using eyeliner (I use MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack), line as close to your lashes as possible, letting the line run thicker near the edge.
6. Line up your applicator against your bottom lid.
7. Mark this area--- your mark should be as if the flick were a continuation of your lower lid.
8. Connect this dot with your eyeliner.
9. Connect the triangle--- connect the dot to the main part of your liner and fill it in.
10. Apply mascara on upper and bottom lashes, concentrating on the outer edge!!
Voila! You're finished!!

What I love about this look is how quick and easy it is-- it usually takes me about 7 minutes to do all of this (it took me 15 to do it on this particular day with photos and all). It's also very versatile and can be changed up with different lipsticks. Since this is my go-to makeup, I've included a few photos with slight variations (different lip-color, a bit more mascara, etc).

  1. you are so beautiful and I love the way you wear your make-up!

  2. Yay I'm so glad you showed us this because your make up is always so pretty and perfect!! I'll be trying it soon =)

  3. wow it's beautiful!! I absolutely love it, thank u for sharing =)

  4. Lovely tutorial! Your makeup is gorgeous!!

  5. you did a great job with this tutorial. I need to invest in some white eyeliner.

  6. One of these days I'll have to invest in some real eyeliner, haha. All I use right now is black eyeshadow for lining! Anyways, lovely tutorial...I love this look so much! It's very versatile and classy.(:

  7. You look gorgeous, of course. Really love this look... thanks for making it a tutorial, too! I'm definitely going to have to give it a try <3

How have you been, dear? Hope things are going well!

  8. I like your dress. lol j/k.. fantastic tutorial! :D

  9. Yay thanks so much for this, I definitely would love to try the winged eyeliner look more often, it looks gorgeous on you! :)

  10. This is a great tutorial, I always think I look really weird when I put on that much eye make-up but the style always looks gorgeous on you and I'd really like to try it sometime.

  11. Neat! Very interesting to see your process... I like how you do your eyes a lot. I usually just do a cat eye with liner, and that's it... I'm so lazy, that's as involved as I get, haha. You look lovely!

  12. This look suits you well. I love the eyes. I may not throw out my white liner after all. Excellent tutorial! -xo

  13. So pretty! Thank you for sharing. I really need some white liner. I always have a hard time making the inner lids pop with only shadow.

  14. This is a great tutorial! I love the thick liner... cat eye is my favourite eye liner style... but I think I want to start making my lines thicker, like yours.

  15. Gorgeous! Now I just need to figure out the lipstick situation... Don't know how to make it work on me!

  16. So pretty! I love thick, wing tipped eyeliner with a bold lipstick. It's so 1950's! <3

  17. So pretty, those eyes!!!

  18. I do love the way that you do your make-up! It looks so good.

  19. Neat! http://www.loganmakesamess.com

  20. Great tutorial!

I use liquid eyeliner a lot and I do the same kind of thing as you, but without the more 'technical' stuff like primer... I just kind of put it on, and add mascara.

  21. absolutely stunning! the bombshell look is a perfect complement to your full eyes and luscious cascading hair; great waves and color!

  22. Super cute. A quick cat eye is my go to as well! We have similar daily makeup routines it seems!

  23. Thanks for sharing! I love your eyeliner! I just need to perfect this routine & practice so I can do it faster :)

  24. The first picture you have up isn't that great, I think it would help to bring the wing to more of a "flick" or a tip at the end, so as not to accentuate your already round face. Also some eye cream - sleep wouldn't hurt?
