I'm sure you guys are tired of the dorm-living-room background. I'll be home with my family this week, and I plan on roping my brother into taking outdoor outfit photos for me. I'm so excited to see him-- my mom might let me pick him up from school early (his spring break is different than mine) and take him out to lunch and maybe to a movie!
I'm sure people say this all the time, but my little brother is seriously THE coolest person ever. He's thirteen years old(!!!) and will turn fourteen on May 12. Just typing that seriously made me tear up a bit. I'm not even kidding. I know that people oft say how children grow up so fast.. but come on! The fact that my little baby brother is going to be starting high school this year just puts a knot in my stomach. I remember being his age-- it doesn't even feel like that long ago. As I see him age, I'm reminded that I'm getting older, too. This is all just a bunch of rambling on how he's growing up and is already a lot taller than I am.
One amazing thing about my brother that I have to share--- his sense of humor! He has this deadpan comedic style where he'll deliver THE most inappropriate lines in monotone like it's no big deal. We also have this game where we send ugly-face-photos to one another throughout the day. I was going to post the one he sent me, but he'd kill me. I was going to post the one I sent him, but you'd unfollow me. lol.
Love,
Amber

oh what a pretty jacket! I wish I could have as cool and funny baby bro !
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! The whole combination is perfect! ^^
ReplyDeleteI totally know how you feel about your brother! My younger sister is about to turn 15 in June, and it makes me feel so old! I also have to wear heels to be taller than her, haha.

awwww cute post, I feel the same with my little sisters. I'm ten years older then the oldest and they are now so grown up, which must mean I'm ancient haha xxx
ReplyDeleteHaha. That is so sweet that you and your brother have such a close relationship. That would be so fun to be taken out of school early by your older sis, how nice! Enjoy your time home with the family. Your cardigan is so pretty, love the color!
ReplyDeleteWhoa I have those shorts too! We seem to have the same taste in clothing!
ReplyDeleteIts so nice to hear siblings getting along!

My brother William and I play the ugly face game too! Oh my gosh I loled when I read that because it's so true! :D
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit!
I love all of the colors in your outfit, and those tights are amazing!! Aren't little brothers the best? Mine's turning 23 on Friday...I can't believe it! Then again I can't believe that I myself am 24 so I guess it makes sense...
ReplyDeleteI need some shorts like that. I've been loving your shorts/tights/boots combos and coveting your shorts. This is a sign that I need my own.
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky that you get along with your brother. My sister and I are only 3 years apart and until the past couple years, our main interactions have been fisticuffs (no joke, literal fist fights).
Those tights are awesome! I really like the cardigan as well. The ugly face game sounds so entertaining!
ReplyDeletesuch a lovely post I feel this way about my brothers (on good days!) I have 3 of them too!
ReplyDeleteyou look beautiful as always dear

awe... i have a little bother, too :)
ReplyDeleteYou look great. The cardigan is kinda soft & girly, and the shorts & boots are kinda 'tough'. Also your little brother sounds awesome :) It's great to have a sibling that you get along with so well. My sister & I are only like that for short intervals ;)
ReplyDeleteAwww, this is so sweet! I hope your mom let you take him out!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely in that outfit!!!
Marja,
xoxo
As I read this I kept nodding in agreement, and smiling. I don't have younger siblings, but my best friend has a little brother as well. We have the same last name (and live walking distance from each other!), so we've always joked that we were separated at birth. When her brother started high school, I felt the exact same way!
ReplyDeleteMy baby bro is pretty awesome too, even if he towers over me & is a huge computer nerd. We always stick up for each other, and he has the best sense of humor. No one gets our humor like we do!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous, love your coat!
it's a shame for i do so ever love ugly face photos and i would promise not to unfollow you. its lovely to hear about how much you admire your little bro, mine's just a pest (but i love him)

ReplyDeleteLove those tights! I am a tight addict. I love that you love your little brother, I feel the same way about my little sister. She is my favorite human
ReplyDeleteyour brother sounds like a great kid. I love that deadpan sense of humor. Its the best.

ReplyDeletei wish my brother wasn't so 'boyish' about technology and that he tried to text us. but he's so weird about it and he doesn't my brother is going to be 14 on april 17th and i'm DYING. it's not fair. he can't keep growing!
ReplyDeletei feel like, your brother is cooler than my brother, in jr high levels, but they'd get along.
Awww so cool you are close to your little bro :)
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit too, and I like the dorm room background :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful, beautiful. x hivenn
ReplyDeleteLooking gorgeous and loved your eyes!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I so know how you feel about your little brother growing up! I'm the oldest in my family and have three younger siblings. Since there's a 10 year difference between me and my youngest brother, he was still really young when I went off to college and when I came back home for the first time post-collage, he was so big and grown-up; I felt like I had missed so much of his life! I'm so proud of all of my siblings and all that they're doing, but I certainly wish I could see them more often. They do grow up so fast!
ReplyDeleteBrothers are great, aren't they?
