It's only me who wants to wrap around your dreams.

DSC_0898

These photos are about two months old, though the weather is much the same. Isn't it funny how different a person can look in two months? I think the thing that dates the pictures the most, at least to me, is the length of my hair.. it's much longer now.

Lately I've been a bit uninspired by my blog and have been lacking the motivation to comment or read blogs as much as I used to. My bloglovin' account is at a menacing '907 unread posts'... scary, right? I'll be catching up this week. I have a ton of outfits to post (!!!) and a journal full of poems to type up and share as well! I know that my blog is technically a fashion blog, but when I started this in 2010 (almost at the two year mark), I'd intended for it to be a poetry blog. I think there's all this pressure to define what type of blog you have, and I love reading blogs with bits of everything. This is just a long-winded way of saying that there will still be weekly outfit posts, but there will also be more music, poetry, and bits of life. More Amber, I suppose.

Don't you just love that nice garage in the background? Classy. :)
I'm off to try and put a dent in that list of 'unread blogs' but I'll see you guys in a few days with a new poetry post.

  3. That is such a cute dress. I love the sleeves! And those booties are just lovely. I can't believe you got them at Target of all places!~

&& hey, I know what you mean about feeling a little pressured on what to post. But you post whatever you want, because that's what everyone loves! If that means a poetry post every day and an outfit post every two weeks, then go for it! I think I've told you before that I'm quite nervous when posting artsies, and don't want to post them too frequently. >_< We can do this together!~

  4. You look divine! Those shoes are fabulous...I've never seen those beauties at Target. Jacksonville Targets suck! (For lack of a better description) - I'm excited for your upcoming posts! I miss seeing you on my blogger dashboard! PS - you are gorgeous!

  12. I know exactly what you mean, and it is a little stressful. Luckily, it's a kind of self imposed pressure because we read this blog for your perspective on everything. Not just your adorable outfits. Therefore the change is welcome, as is anything that makes you happy and inspired <3

  13. Yeah, I understand what you mean about wanting to post a variety of things. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what I want my blog to be. I love your style so I always enjoy outfit posts - but I also love poetry so I am excited to see more of that too :)

  15. yuuuup. totally understand what you mean. it toook me a few trial blogs and a few years to finally call my blog what it is.

i love fashion, but i'm not much of an outfit post-type person. so i only post every so often. i love photography and writing, so that's my main theme. & i understand about not having inspiration all the time - that's why i don't post everyday. if i do, i think i'll go mad.

    cheers

  16. oh sweet girl you are just so beautiful.

And I have to say, when I first stumbled upon your blog all those years ago, when I was writing somewhere else, I remember falling in love with it because of the writing, not the pretty pictures. Dont feel defined by anything my dear, It is your blog, it is your direction. You define it baby girl.

Sending you love and blogging mojo vibes! I know that uninspired feeling all too well. But I love seeing your face around this place. It always brightens my day, xxx

  17. I'm glad that your blog is a bit of everything. Strictly fashion blogs (where people only post up outfits) can get tiresome and sometimes I feel like it can turn into an "look at what I own" competition.
Anyway, you look stunning in the first photo! I laughed when I looked closer and saw the contents of a garage in the back haha (you are not the first to take photos on their driveway *ahem*)

  18. I know what you mean about the overloaded bloglovin' reader and the lack of inspiration. I have been sick all week and have 1200 unread posts!
Way lovely dress by the way.

  20. I think it's hard to direct your blog to something particular, especially if you have many interests, I to be honest prefer blogs that have a bit of everything.

  21. I love poetry and I think you should indulge in your interests on your blog! :) Have fun getting lost in blogland! :) x

  22. Love the dress, those shoes are really fantastic too. The blogs I enjoy the most are the ones that are obviously written by people who writing/posting things they enjoy. And typically have a wider span than just 'fashion' blog or 'food blog'. You should post whatever you feel like posting :)

  23. I agree with you, about the pressure we feel to have our blogs defined. I'm glad that you (and your commenters) have agreed that you like blogs with a bit of everything. Mine is so scattered! Outfits, music, style, photos of what my day looks like when I'm doing absolutely nothing, crafts. There's so much. I am also drawn to blogs that touch on a few different things. It's like a sneak peek into the writers life, and yours seems so interesting. Keep the poetry coming! I absolutely adore it.

And I absolutely love your shoes.

  24. Love the shoes + dress :)

I'm very new to blogging, so for me its been sort of scary to read posts with do's & dont's about blogging. I've had so many people tell me to pick a category, and don't post annoying things that don't fit into my blog category. What?! Isn't a blog supposed to be about myself and what I like?

Do whatever you like with your blog! I'd still follow :D

  25. lovely dress. It reminds me a bit of a 90s grungy look...(I mean that as a compliment)

  26. I love that your blog is a mix of beautiful words, poetry and fashion <3 It's what makes it so unique! I don't think you need to categorise a blog, but if you do, yours would be something along the lines of a 'philosophical fashion blog' or a 'whimsical mix of poetry and pretty dresses' :)

  27. I have been feeling a bit uninspired as well!!!! I love that your blog has a bit of everything and your poetry is so beautiful :) Speaking of gorgeous those shoes are seriously amazing and the floral dress is so pretty!!

  28. Very cute dress! I know what you mean about feeling uninspired with your blog - I have been, too. That's why I set up the survey for feedback but it only made me feel more lost, really. I think just to blog about what you feel is important is the best way to go about it, really. And if other people love it too that's a bonus!

I feel the same way about being uninspired reading blogs. It becomes so much more of a chore than fun sometimes. Keep your chin up girl. I can't wait to see more from your music and poetry.
